The students of Wittyfield Primary School have a problem:
Their ancient computer server keeps breaking down, the school can’t afford a new one and the teachers don’t seem to have a clue about how to fix things!
When a solution comes along in the form of a National Song Competition with a huge cash prize, the students set their sights on making the ultimate song to represent their school and win the money.
But musical tastes and monster egos soon begin to clash and the students discover that it’ll take more than funky beats and melodies to really win big. These kids are about to realise that sometimes you win – and sometimes you learn!
Go for Gold is a brand new kids’ Musical written by local writer Kathy Carruthers, for and about 21st century kids and the things that matter to them. The catchy original tunes will have you humming along well after leaving the theatre, and the themes of friendship, teamwork and the meaning of success will resonate with young and old audiences alike.
Whitfield State School is thrilled to be staging the World Premiere of Go For Gold at Trinity Bay State High School Theatre:
Friday 10th September 6:30pm and Saturday 11th September 1:00pm.
