Welcome to the Whitfield State School P&C Association.
The P&C Association is a group of parents and citizens who work together to improve the educational environment for the students of Whitfield State School. We work with the whole school community – principal, deputy principals, teachers and teacher aides, administration staff, grounds and cleaning staff, school council, families, and students – to help our children receive the best, safest, and most enjoyable education possible.
The P&C runs a number of important school services – uniform shop, tuckshop, bookshop and school banking – as well as various fundraising events each year. The funds raised by the P&C contribute to school improvements and resources such as air-conditioning, IT equipment, sports equipment, classroom resources, music equipment, landscaping and outdoor seating. Our most significant contribution was towards the construction of the CAWMPEF (Covered All Weather Multi Purpose Educational Facility), which is used for PE lessons, assembly, lunchtime sports, and many other school functions and activities.
Membership to the P&C is optional and free, and parents can help with P&C activities without being a member. Volunteers are the foundation of the P&C, and all help (big or small) is greatly appreciated. Please contact our friendly P&C Executive if you can help out.
Meetings are held on the second Tuesday each month at 6pm in the Learning Resource Centre (library), and usually run for 1½ hours. All parents are welcome to attend and/or become members. Being involved in the P&C is a great way to get to know other parents and families, and gives you a chance to see how our big and busy school works.
P&C success lies with support from parents and carers. and their willingness to contribute ideas, expertise, time and enthusiasm towards making our brilliant school even better!.
