Whitfield State School has an Enrolment Management Plan (EMP) in place to manage current and future facility capacity. In order to enrol as an in-catchment enrolment, you must have proof of a permanent residential address within the school's catchment area. To determine if your address is within the catchment area, follow the link: http://www.qgso.qld.gov.au/maps/edmap
In-catchment enrolment steps:
Please express your interest in enrolment at our school by completing an Expression of Interest Form via the button below. Once your residential address has been confirmed as being within our catchment, enrolment forms will be sent to you for completion.
Please note you will be asked to provide proof of residency with your application. Current proof of residency at the address indicated can be provided by submitting one of the following documents from both the primary and secondary source as listed below.
- One primary source – a current lease agreement, rates notice or unconditional sale agreement; and
- One secondary source – a utilities bill (eg electricity, gas) showing this same address and parent’s/legal guardian’s name.
Along with the enrolment application forms we will need to sight each child’s birth certificate.
Families unable to access the internet can collect hard copy of enrolment forms from the school office.
Out-of-catchment enrolment steps:
While Whitfield is a very popular school in Cairns, each year our school offers some enrolment places to children outside of our catchment. Families wishing to enrol who live out of catchment need to complete an Expression of Interest Form via the button below. Enrolment of students from outside the local catchment area will be managed to ensure that the total current and forecast enrolments do not exceed the school’s current build capacity and where applicable will ensure there is an even spread of students across year levels or class groupings.
Principal Tours
A great way to understand the benefits of Whitfield State School education is to book a Principal Tour. Whitfield State School offers a number of tours throughout the year. We invite you to visit and experience our school and classrooms firsthand. On the tour you will be guided through the school personally by the Principal and provided with a snapshot of our school’s opportunities, facilities, teaching practice and values. These tours are for parents/guardians only and bookings are essential.
